Actimar and CMA CGM, as intermediate and end user, presented a service for the provision of qualified current forecasts for the routing of vessels joining Europe to Asia.

The combined use of forecasting and observations data, including those provided by the Copernicus service, allows CMA CGM vessels to adapt their route and speed to arrive at ports at scheduled times. This optimization also reduces fuel consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases.

To optimize its service and develop new services, Actimar has a crucial need for improved models and measurements, and to better know the uncertainties on these data.
