Ship routing by ocean current Actimar contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
Since 2015, Actimar has been developing innovative services that enable shipping companies to optimize their routes in areas where marine currents are dominant. These services take advantage of the best predictions from global and regional models, qualified by in situ observations and drifting buoy trajectories.
In partnership with a European group led by NERSC, Actimar is launching the TOPVOYS project to improve and optimize maritime routing services. In close collaboration with the French partners OceanDataLab and CMA CGM, Actimar will develop its processes by using satellite data that show a signature of ocean dynamics.
